A desktop environment compatible with Xfce, Linux and Unix-like systems. It can work with kernels like Linux, BSD and Solaris and is ideal for machines with low speeds.

Xfce also offers a development environment. He also owns third party software such as Mousepad text editor, Xfmedia media player and Terminal which are using Xfce libraries.

Xfce is developed using GTK + 2.x tools such as GNOME, and since the 4.6th version, it uses the Thunar file manager. Xfce is similar to commercial CDE, but goes a bit further in each new release. The Xfce desktop environment has been coded twice in total, with the transition from version 2 to 3 and then to 4.

Xfce is offered as an alternative package in many distributions, although GNOME or KDE is not commonly preferred as the default desktop environment. We also utilize the Pandora game console Xfce.
